Enzo
|
Enzo is an adaptive mesh refinement (AMR), grid-based hybrid code (hydro + N-Body), which is designed to do simulations of cosmological structure formation. It uses the algorithms of Berger & Collela to improve spatial and temporal resolution in regions of large gradients, such as gravitationally collapsing objects. The Enzo simulation software is incredibly flexible, and can be used to simulate a wide range of cosmological situations.

What is a CPU-hr.? A CPU-hr. is the aggregate CPU time spent across all machines, rounded up to the nearest hour (e.g., a task running on 1,000 CPUs for one minute = 1,000 CPU minutes or approximately 17 CPU hours, costing you only $17).

Key Features
 |
- Enzo simulations using as many as 1024 processors have been successfully carried out
- Enzo has the capability to follow up to nine species of H and He.
- Enzo includes algorithms for radiative cooling, using either an assumed metallicity or is calculated directly from species abundances.
- The uniform ultraviolet backgrounds in Enzo are based on work by Haardt & Madau.
