CalculiX
|
CalculiX is a free software nonlinear three-dimensional finite element program for structural applications. It comes with a preprocessor to generate and mesh the structures, and a postprocessor to view the results by means of contour plots and animation.

What is a CPU-hr.? A CPU-hr. is the aggregate CPU time spent across all machines, rounded up to the nearest hour (e.g., a task running on 1,000 CPUs for one minute = 1,000 CPU minutes or approximately 17 CPU hours, costing you only $17).

Key Features
 |
- The pre- and post-processor is an interactive 3D tool using the openGL API
- The solver is able to do linear and non-linear calculations
- Available materials: elastic, hyperelastic and elastoplastic
- Program includes nonlinear static, nonlinear dynamic (implicit and explicit), frequency, buckling and modal dynamic calculations
- Static, dynamic and thermal solutions available
- Both the pre- and post-processor and the solver can be used independently, as needed

Description |
CalculiX is a three-dimensional structural finite element program designed to test and solve field problems such as static problems (bridge and building design), buckling, dynamic applications (crash, earthquake resistance) and eigenmode analysis (resonance phenomena). CalculiX consists of two parts: CalculiX GraphiX, used for generating an input file interactively and for visualization of the results, and CalculiX CrunchiX, which sets up the finite element equations and solves them.
